The Equine Stifle: A Journey through Ultrasound Evaluation and Shoeing Solutions for Hind Limb Conformation

Our educational event will begin with breakfast on Saturday morning at 8am at the Pacific Coast Horseshoeing School. Presentations from Dr. Rachel Gottlieb and Mr. Tim Shannon will start at 8:30am. Lunch is included in this event, and will be held at 12pm. Following lunch we will begin our hands on wet labs led by Dr. Gottlieb and Mr. Shannon.

Dr. Gottlieb’s presentation will include:

  • Stifle anatomy and a systematic approach to diagnosing injuries of the stifle joint

  • Rehabilitation and management of stifle injuries. Return to sport and maintaining athletes post-injury. 

Mr. Shannon’s presentation and wet lab will include:

  • Hind limb conformation and biomechanics

  • Hind limb common pathologies and shoeing protocols

  • Hind limb conformational assessment

  • Forging conformation appropriate shoes
